Why they were chosen
After the satire of the crisis, the Municipality wanted 2015 to have a strong Cypriot flavour: the carnival 'of Melody and Song' honoured the kantadoroi and Limassol's songs. It chose Andreas Vryonidis, businessman and 'long-standing carnival man' known across the city, who wore the traditional vraka to show that the carnival stays rooted in Cypriot tradition.
Who they are
Limassol businessman and long-standing carnival figure. Age/details not published. In 2016 he handed 'the baton' to Queen Elena Papadopoulou.
The float and the entrance to the city
Illuminated float, costume with the traditional vraka trousers; procession from the District Office to Heroes' Square. He also opened the children's parade (15/2/2015).
