Why they were chosen

Akis Georgiou, known to all Limassol as 'Taitos', is one of the city's classic carnival figures. The Pattichio Municipal Museum guide records him as 'King of the Carnival for 2009' and notes that right afterwards he worked with Elena Papadopoulou to set up the museum's first carnival-costume hall, where his own royal costume is displayed. The Municipality honoured him again in February 2026 together with three other veteran carnival figures.

Who they are

Veteran Limassol carnival figure. His King's costume is displayed at the Pattichio Municipal Museum – Historical Archive. Honoured at the 10 February 2026 tribute evening (Panos Solomonides Municipal Cultural Centre, under the Mayor's patronage). Profession/age not published.
