Why they were chosen

Maria Pieri Sykopetritou is a 'long-standing carnival woman', known for her active role in the city's social and cultural life, from the family of the late Toula Sykopetritou – the former chair of the Municipality's Cultural Committee who raised generations of carnival-goers in her groups. When the newspaper 'Lemesos' revealed the choice, former Queen Erma Stylianidou said she 'was the only one to whom the title rightfully belonged'. She paraded under the theme 'The Deep Blue of the Mediterranean'.

Who they are

Well-known Limassol carnival woman with an active social and cultural role. Profession/age not published. The family link to Toula Sykopetritou is inferred from the surname – to be confirmed.

'Maria was the only one to whom this honorary title rightfully belonged.' (Erma Stylianidou on her selection)
