Why they were chosen

No new selection was made in 2021: because of the pandemic, 'for the first time the Carnival King keeps his title for two consecutive years'. The Municipality sent the Maharajah float, with Giorgos Nikolaou aboard, touring the streets of Limassol on Tsiknopempti and the carnival weekend, without kantadoroi or crowds, on routes kept secret 'to avoid gatherings'. The carnival went online, with live-streamed DJ parties 'so we can party from our homes'.

The float and the entrance to the city

The 2020 'Great Maharajah' float toured central Limassol (4 March 2021 and the weekend); Nikolaou ended at Panos Solomonides where a carnival photography exhibition opened.
