Why they were chosen
The Municipality announced her selection on 11 September 2025 'in recognition of her many years of service and devotion to the Limassol Carnival and her inexhaustible talent in carnival creation'. Amaryllis Kyriakou began in 1985 as an attendant of the Carnival King alongside the late Loula Siousmith, from 1993 creating groups became the centre of her work, and since 2005 she has joined the Grand Parade every year with her own groups, 'bringing her own colour, passion and creativity'. Mayor Yiannis Armeftis called her 'a genuine carnival woman who lives and serves the institution with love, energy and devotion'.
Who they are
Born 9 October 1969 (56 when Queen). Married to Tasos Kyriakou, mother of Nikolas and Dimitris; in 2024 she handed part of her group to her son Dimitris. Has worked in TV presenting, fashion retail and shows.
The float and the entrance to the city
Entered the city on a float wearing a costume shaped like the amaryllis flower; led the Grand Parade (115 groups) on Makarios III Avenue.
'Amaryllis Kyriakou is a genuine carnival woman who lives and serves the institution with love, energy and devotion.' (Mayor Yiannis Armeftis at the coronation)
